So, what's it all about?

OK, I'm new to this blogging thing (although I think I did something similar on my personal web site some years ago before it was called blogging). You'll have to forgive the stylistic shifts and rambling for a bit.

Basically, after 12 years in the IT industry (most of it as a project manager) I'm disillusioned with the whole thing. I used to talk about buying a country pub when I retired; well, I'm kind of thinking of bringing that forward a bit. OK, a lot.

This blog is intended as somewhere where I can:

• get my thoughts together
• store links etc. to various useful resources
• solicit suggestions and other feedback
• record my progress in the vague hope that it might be useful to others in a similar situation
